In preparation for the end of the federal fiscal year, Sept. 30, we are providing guidance for the final reporting of WIC and peer grant expenses. Please forward the memo Closeout procedures and deadlines FFY 2025 (PDF) to fiscal staff that are responsible for monthly claims.
WIC participant data confidentiality
WIC federal regulations classify WIC applicant and participant data as confidential. Federal regulations also generally prohibit the disclosure of WIC data for purposes unrelated to the administration or enforcement of the WIC program. We have created the WIC Participant Data Confidentiality (PDF) resource to help guide you should you receive any requests for WIC data by third parties.
Your input needed: Help shape our new mini trainings
The nutrition goal for the federal fiscal year 2027-2028 nutrition education plan is to “Enhance WIC staff assessment and counseling skills for common nutrition risks.” To support this, we’ll be offering a series of recorded, on-demand mini trainings over the next two years. Each 10-minute training will focus on one nutrition topic, such as understanding risk codes, tips for assessment, and counseling recommendations for the specific topic/risk.
We’d love your input! Share your requests, ideas, and experiences to help us develop trainings that are practical, relevant, and useful for you. All WIC CPAs are encouraged to complete the WIC CPA Skill Development Survey. Survey closes August 29, 2025.
