MnVFC 2025-26 influenza vaccine will begin shipping to providers next week. We will continue to ship flu vaccine orders as doses become available from the manufacturers in the coming months. To make sure all MnVFC providers have flu vaccine early in the season, and because different brands and presentations become available at different times, you may not receive all of your doses in one shipment. Sites can expect to receive a few small shipments throughout the distribution season. You will receive a confirmation email when we process your order, you can check the status of your prebook requests at any time in MIIC. For more details review page six of the Special Vaccine Event User Guide.
Providers should begin vaccinating their priority patients (i.e., children 6 months through 8 years of age receiving influenza for the first time who need two doses, and pregnant people in their third trimester) as soon as they have vaccine.
- To ensure adequate supply for larger-scale influenza vaccination clinics (e.g., walk-up or drive-thru clinics), consider scheduling priority patients in late October to early November.
- Provide the appropriate Vaccine Information Statement from CDC: Current VISs to patients (Influenza-inactivated/recombinant or Influenza-live, intranasal).
- Review the 2025-26 Minnesota Fall Flu Guide when it is posted online. Sign up for email alerts when the guide and other materials are updated on Influenza Information for Health Professionals. Type in your email address at the bottom of the page and click “submit.”
- MDH staff will process your flu prebook vaccine orders in MIIC as doses become available from the manufacturers. Sites will be able to check the status and details of their flu vaccine requests in MIIC under “manage special vaccine event” throughout the distribution season.
