Food package policy updates
With the recent food package updates, several food package policies have been revised with updated Cash Value Benefits (CVB) amounts and with the birth to 1 month mostly-breastfeeding formula amount.
Exhibits updated:
Draft-Section 7.10: Food Package for Children 1 through 4 Years Old (Food Package 4) (PDF) is now posted on the Food Package Updates page.
Changes include:
- Updated CVB amounts.
- Inclusion of a variety of milk options in the standard milk item.
New income guidelines – effective July 1
The new Minnesota Health Care Program WIC Income Guidelines, based on 275% of federal poverty guidelines, have been updated and will take effect on July 1. Exhibit 5-A Minnesota WIC Income Eligibility Guidelines has been updated.
Anemia in Minnesota WIC children fact sheet and talking points
The Child Anemia in the Minnesota WIC Program, 2025 (PDF) fact sheet is now available and a helpful tool to highlight the benefits of WIC participation.
Local agencies may use the 2025 Anemia in Minnesota WIC Children - Talking Points (PDF) to share the fact sheet with partners and stakeholders.
Local agency staff should talk to their supervisor for approval before registering for training.

Newcomer education for wellness text messaging education series
The Newcomer Education for Wellness text messaging education resource is a free resource designed to help refugees, immigrants, and newcomers to the U.S. navigate the health care system and take care of their own health.
By signing up, newcomers will receive free, accessible health education videos in their own language texted directly to their phone. The videos are short (around two minutes), culturally and linguistically accessible, and cover key health topics such as interpretation services, navigating the U.S. health care system, dental and vision care, healthy eating, and stress management. Videos will be available in the following languages: Arabic, Burmese, Dari, English, French, Haitian Creole, Karen, Pashto, Somali, Spanish, and Swahili.
