MinnesotaCare now available to residents regardless of immigration
More Minnesotans now have access to affordable, comprehensive health insurance through the MinnesotaCare program. A new law allows low-income residents to qualify regardless of immigration status.
MinnesotaCare covers a broad range of health care services, like preventive, routine, specialty and emergency care. Most services will cost nothing out of pocket.
Individuals are eligible for MinnesotaCare if they:
- Live in Minnesota.
- Meet the income limits.
- Lack other health insurance options. If health insurance is available through employment, an individual may still qualify if the insurance from their employment is too expensive.
How to enroll in MinnesotaCare:
- You can apply for MinnesotaCare through MNsure, Minnesota’s health insurance marketplace.
- You can apply any time through the MNsure Apply and Enroll
Individuals can get one-on-one help applying from a trusted community partner and MNsure-certified navigators. For help finding an assistor or navigator, visit the MNsure: Find an Assistor
WIC local agency webpage changes
The WIC Local Agency webpage is getting a makeover! We have a new Breastfeeding section to organize all the breastfeeding resources and information in one place. It is located just below the Nutrition section, and Staff Resources is placed below Nutrition and Breastfeeding.
These breastfeeding resources are now placed in the new Breastfeeding section:
- Staff Breastfeeding Resources
- Breastfeeding in Emergencies
- Lactation Continuing Education
- Breastfeeding Awards
|
We will add a Peer Breastfeeding Program subcategory in the Breastfeeding section, featuring information and resources related to peer breastfeeding.
Please send any feedback on this change to Rosie Pierce-Martin.
Local agency staff should talk to their supervisor for approval before registering for training.
Refer to WIC Annual Required Trainings for staff training requirements.
