UUAV COVID-19 vaccine transition to routine ordering form in MIIC
In our last UUAV announcement, we announced we were opening a special vaccine event to distribute UUAV COVID vaccine using some supplemental funds made available to us by the CDC. We have distributed all the doses we can using that supplemental money, and we are now transitioning to the routine order form in MIIC for UUAV COVID vaccine. Here’s what you need to know:
The Minnesota COVID-19 Vaccine Guide is now available on our COVID-19 Vaccine Providers.
UUAV annual re-enrollment forms due Nov. 30
As part of your site’s enrollment in the UUAV program, you are required to complete forms for our annual re-enrollment process. Your site’s vaccine coordinator, backup vaccine coordinator, and system-level contact (if applicable) will receive one email with links to all the required re-enrollment forms. If your site contacts do not receive an email with links by Oct. 12, please email us at health.uuadultvax@state.mn.us.
Sites will need to submit the following forms by Nov. 30:
- The annual report of the number of immunized adult patients
- If your site redistributes vaccine to satellite sites, you must submit one annual report that includes the data for those satellite sites.
- If your site has a system-level contact, they may be responsible for submitting this report for all sites in your system. Please connect with the appropriate contacts in your organization to confirm who is completing this requirement.
- Annual contact and address verification form
- This form is used to verify and update our contact information and addresses for all sites.
Replacement method sites will also be emailed a link to complete the Replacement Method of Vaccine Management Agreement.
You will be required to complete additional forms if you are also enrolled in MnVFC. The email we send your site will contain links to all the required forms for your site, including both UUAV and MnVFC forms if applicable. Please review the recent MnVFC announcement about re-enrollment for more details about MnVFC requirements and updates.
PCV21 vaccine now available
On June 27, the U.S. Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended 21-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV21) as an option for adults aged 19 years and older who currently have a recommendation to receive a dose of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV). PCV15, PCV20 or PCV21 can be used for recommended doses. Visit CDC: Pneumococcal: Pneumococcal Vaccine Recommendations for specific guidance. PCV21 covers 14 strains covered in PCV20 plus 7 different strains. These additional strains may be more common in adults over 65 years. A new PCV21 product from Merck, Capvaxive, is now available for UUAV ordering in MIIC. The product is available for $201.68 per dose and comes in packages of 10 doses. As with other UUAV vaccines, any order must fit within your site’s total allocation.
