MN WIC 2024 Training Conference reminders
We are one week our from the MN WIC 2024 Training Conference. Are you ready to join us for a day filled with learning, connection, and celebration? We are excited to see everyone in person again! We have an amazing line up of experts in current public health, nutrition, and breastfeeding topics that will impact the work you do with participants every day. There will be time to connect with some key community partners and other staff from around the state as well.
A few reminders for the day:
- Registration is closed and total numbers have been sent to the conference venue. We will no longer be accepting late registration requests.
- Check out the “MN WIC 2024 Preconference” event located on the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Learning Center for awards, know-before-you-go information, and two keynote speakers' presentations.
- Be sure to walk through the MN WIC 2024 Training Conference webpage for conference details, the agenda, speaker information and materials, and more.

Speaker handouts will not be printed; they are available on the conference webpage to view/download. There will be free Wi-Fi at the conference!
- To accommodate all attendees chosen sessions, seating in the breakouts will include some with a table seat and many seats without a table. You may choose to bring a clipboard for writing if this is helpful.

Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental delay resources from Minnesota focus groups
This webinar will summarize essential tools and insights, offering actionable takeaways for families and providers working with families of children ages birth-5 around early signs of developmental delays and autism.
When: Monday, Oct. 7, from 2 - 3 p.m.
Register: From Learning to Action: Key Takeaways and Resource Highlights.
A certificate of attendance will be provided for those who complete the follow-up survey.
Session topics:
1. Reviewing key resources and highlights from MN Act Early and Follow Along Program professional development series: "Autism and Developmental Delays"
2. Using the MN Autism Resource portal website to make person-centered referrals and trouble-shoot barriers. A representative from MN Department of Human Services will provide an overview of the MN autism resource portal website.
Participants will learn about:
- Services and supports available across the lifespan for people on the autism spectrum.
- Strategies to problem solve common barriers to accessing supports, and
- Tools to ensure referrals are based on the person’s strengths, interests and needs.
Coffective sharing from Minnesota grantees
Join the Breastfeeding Coordinator Call on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 9 a.m., to hear from five local WIC agencies about the projects they have been working on to improve access to breastfeeding services and support in their communities. This is a great opportunity to learn about Coffective Community Partnership Collaborative and maybe be inspired to start a project of your own!
