C&TC has a variety of upcoming trainings designed for primary care providers, clinic staff, and those providing screening to children, adolescents, and young adults in Minnesota.
Clinic trainings
These trainings are FREE and intended for clinic staff (medical providers, nurses, medical assistants, nurse managers, billing) who directly perform or support C&TC screening in the clinic setting. Registration is open to the first 200 registered participants.
Hearing Basic Screening Skills (FREE)
Training includes information on performing pure tone audiometry and play audiometry including the use of recommended pure tone audiometers, and pass/refer/rescreen criteria, and documentation.

Vision Basic Screening Skills (FREE)
Training includes information on performing evidence-based visual acuity and plus lens screening including the use of recommended visual acuity charts, plus lens screening, and pass/refer/rescreen criteria, and documentation.

Sports Physical into a Complete C&TC (FREE)
Training includes how to incorporate a Minnesota State High School League sports physical into a routine health supervision visit for youth 11 -20 years who are eligible for C&TC. Information includes what needs to be added to the sports physical to make it a complete C&TC.

Hearing and Vision Basic Screening Skills ($60)
Includes how to do basic hearing and vision screening. Intended for anyone who performs hearing and vision screening on children.

Hearing and Vision Advanced Screening Skills for Nurses ($105)
Includes how to do basic hearing and vision screening. In addition, the hearing portion includes in-depth ear anatomy and physiology, risk assessment/hearing history, definitions of conductive and sensorineural hearing loss, otoscopy, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions screening (OAE). The vision portion includes a review of myopia, hyperopia, and amblyopia, performing pupillary light, and red reflex procedures. This training will include time to practice skills learned. Intended for RNs/LSNs/PHNs who perform hearing and vision screenings.

Best Practices ($60)
Overview of evidence-based recommendations for performing recommended and required components of a complete C&TC well child exam. Intended for those who provide and assist in providing C&TC screening.
