Supporting newcomer health workshop
The Minnesota Center of Excellence in Newcomer Health, in collaboration with the University of Minnesota Department of Medicine, is offering an interactive workshop about effectively collaborating with a professional interpreter.
The two-hour online simulation-based workshop is being held:

April 3, 5:30-7:30 p.m. or 6:30-8:30 p.m.

April 15, 5:30-7:30 p.m. or 6:30-8:30 p.m.

WIC promotion and outreach grant application - due April 12
Local WIC agencies can apply for outreach project funding.
Local agencies are uniquely positioned to understand the needs of the community and where outreach opportunities exist. Funding of up to $3,000 is available to local WIC agencies to promote WIC services for program recruitment and retention through outreach projects across the state of Minnesota. We will select as many projects as possible up to $25,000.
Important Dates:
- Applications due April 12, 2024.
- Funds must be spent by Sept. 30, 2024.
Funding is pending and dependent on the federal budget. Applicants will be updated on any funding changes before projects start.

Reminder - new Child Tax Credit
Please remember to remind WIC families about Minnesota’s new Child Tax Credit beginning with tax year 2023. It provides $1,750 per qualifying child, with no limit on the number of children claimed. Income phaseouts may apply.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue created Working Family Credit and Child Tax Credit Promotional Materials to help share the information with eligible families.
