WIC staff salary and workforce survey
The Minnesota WIC Program and Local Agency Staffing workgroup are conducting a survey to better understand the challenges of recruiting and retaining WIC staff. Your responses will help us identify the impact that issues like adequate compensation, benefits, and job satisfaction have on staff recruitment and retention. The results may help local agency administrators advocate for fair compensation for WIC staff and enable the Minnesota WIC Program to elevate the importance of local agency staff and support national efforts.
Update:
To access the survey, please refer to the Weekly Update email you received on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, or ask your WIC coordinator for the survey link.
The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. All WIC staff are asked to complete the survey, including WIC Coordinators, CPAs, clerks, Peer Breastfeeding Support staff, and Supervisors. Coordinators, please forward the survey link to any staff who may not receive the Weekly Update.
Results are confidential and will not be reported by individual or by local agency. We appreciate your participation in this survey. Survey will close on March 22, 2024. Aggregate results will be available to local agencies in early summer.
Years of service survey – due May 1.
WIC Coordinators - if you have staff who meet the years of service criteria, please complete WIC and CSFP Service Award Survey 2024.
The WIC and CSFP service awards honor individuals with significant years of service working in those programs to improve the nutrition status and health of mothers, infants, and children, and seniors.
Awards will be given to WIC and CSFP staff (including retirees) who have reached their five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, or 35, 40-year anniversary with these programs by December 31, 2024.
- Service may be with one agency or a combination of agencies – including Minnesota local and tribal, state, federal, and WIC/CSFP service in other states.
- Staff who have reached years of service between the years listed above, but did not receive a previous award, are eligible. For example, if a staff person has worked in WIC for 13 years and did not receive the 10-year award, they would be eligible for it at this time.
Award recipients will be acknowledged through a slide show at the WIC conference.
The years of service survey and details are also listed on our MN WIC 2024 Training Conference webpage under years of service submission.
We anticipate additional conference updates in the coming months; please continue to check our conference webpage and the WIC Weekly Updates for more information.
