Substance Testing at the Public Health Lab | Minnesota Drug Talk
As the drug overdose epidemic claims the lives of Minnesotans across the state, new synthetic substances like fentanyl and xylazine continue to contaminate the drug market. For medical providers and law enforcement, the best place to learn about the drug supplies in their local communities is at the Public Health Lab at the Minnesota Department of Health. Monitoring emerging health threats in local drug supplies – and sharing data with local public health and overdose prevention groups across the state – brings data to action and saves lives.
Watch MDH's new public health lab video to see what substance testing looks like in the Public Health Lab.
