Governor Tim Walz Proclaims February as Children's Oral Health Month in Minnesota!
To prioritize the health and well-being of Minnesota's youngest residents, Governor Tim Walz has officially proclaimed February as "Children's Oral Health Month" across the state.
The proclamation emphasizes the importance oral health has on a person's overall health. Governor Walz also names school nurses and dental professionals as essential partners in increasing the number of children seen in schools and helping children stay healthy and ready to learn. The Governor encourages collaboration between the health and education sectors to sustain in-school dental sealant programs.
The Governor's commitment to children's oral health aligns with the broader mission of the MDH Oral Health Program to foster a solid foundation for the future generations of Minnesota. MDH expresses deep gratitude to its invaluable dental and public health partners for their unwavering commitment to promoting children's oral health and getting kids ready for school, one smile at a time!
