Today's COVID-19 updates include:
Status of COVID-19 in Minnesota:
November 30, 2023
- Total positive including reinfections: 1,844,182
- Total deaths: 15,264
- Total cases requiring hospitalization: 90,368
- Total cases hospitalized in ICU: 15,023
Numbers are cumulative since Jan. 20, 2020.
Information on COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, deaths are updated weekly on Situation Update for COVID-19 with data as of 4 a.m. on the Tuesday prior. The page also includes a map of counties with confirmed cases, data by race/ethnicity, and more.
This total reflects only the results from laboratory testing. There are more cases in Minnesota, and the virus is circulating in communities. It is important for everyone to take steps to protect themselves and others through vaccination, testing, staying home when sick, and more.
Information about monitoring COVID-19 in wastewater can be found on the University of Minnesota's Wastewater SARS-CoV2 Surveillance Study website.

Director for Office of American Indian Health (Job ID: 71419): Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner of the Health Equity Bureau, the Director for the Office of American Indian Health (OAIH) will provide policy, operational, and administrative direction, management, and oversight to the Office of American Indian Health (OAIH) to create and implement a strategic plan for MDH to improve its capacity to advance American Indian Health without infringing upon tribal sovereignty. This position will work in partnership with Minnesota’s American Indian Tribes, MDH’s Tribal Liaison, and MDH division directors. The long-standing and systematic nature of the problems, with which this position is concerned, requires deep appreciation for American Indian health disparities, including the effects of settler colonialism on health outcomes.

Healthy Brain Community Engagement and Communications Specialist (Job ID: 70456): This position will work closely with stakeholders including the MDH Healthy Brain Initiative program team and community partners to coordinate culturally responsive Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) awareness efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing culturally responsive communications strategies related to ADRD, building relationships and managing contracts with community partners, diverse media vendors, and design contractors, and providing partners with technical assistance to implement awareness building strategies.

COVID-19 Community TestingCOVID-19 Community Testing
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) works in partnership with communities to provide safe and free on-site COVID-19 testing in areas with outbreaks, increasing cases, or other barriers to access existing test sites.
- How Minnesotans can get a COVID-19 test
- Walk in or schedule an appointment for a test at free community testing sites across Minnesota.
- Order a test through the state's free at-home rapid COVID-19 testing program.
- Order 4 tests through the federal government's free at-home rapid COVID-19 testing program.

COVID-19 Community Vaccines
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) works in partnership with communities to provide safe and free on-site COVID-19 vaccines.
COVID-19 vaccines continue to be very good at preventing severe disease, hospitalization, and death. Make sure you and your family are up to date on any COVID-19 vaccine doses you are recommended to get to have the best protection against COVID-19.

How to get a vaccine
- Check for vaccine appointments using Vaccines.gov (you can search for appointments by vaccine type: Pfizer vaccine, Moderna vaccine, Novavax vaccine)
- Contact your primary health care provider or a local pharmacy.
- To locate a community vaccination event near you, call the MDH COVID-19 public hotline at 1-833-431-2053 Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday, Thursday: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
