The number of lab-confirmed positive tests among Minnesota residents will be updated weekly on Situation Update for COVID-19 with data as of 4 a.m. on the Tuesday prior. The page also includes a map of counties with confirmed cases, data by race/ethnicity, and more. Additional COVID-19 hospitalization data can be found on the University of Minnesota's Wastewater SARS-CoV2 Surveillance Study website.
This total reflects only the results from laboratory testing. There are more cases in Minnesota, and the virus is circulating in communities. It is important for everyone to take steps to protect themselves and others through vaccination, testing, staying home when sick, and more.

2023-2024 COVID-19 Vaccine Recommendations
On Sept. 12, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced updated COVID-19 vaccine recommendations. Everyone age 6 months and older needs to get a least one dose of the new 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine to be considered up to date. This updated vaccination is especially important for people at high-risk of hospitalization and death.
Vaccination continues to be one of the best tools in our toolbox to fight COVID-19 and keep Minnesotans safe. Read more in MDH’s Statement on COVID-19 Vaccine Authorization.

MDH Seeks Applicants for Equitable Health Care Task Force
In 2023, the Minnesota Legislature established an Equitable Health Care Task Force. The task force will examine inequities in how people experience health care based on race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, and disability. It will identify strategies for ensuring that all Minnesotans can receive care and coverage that is respectful and ensures optimal health outcomes. The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) will convene this task force.
The Equitable Health Care Task Force is currently accepting membership applications. To become a participating member of the task force, please visit Equitable Health Care Task Force or Board/Commission Equitable Health Care Task Force. Applicants must submit a cover letter; other materials such as resumes and letters of recommendation are optional. Application review will began on September 12. The application process will remain open until positions are filled.
