Moderna bivalent vaccine guidance

A summary of the updated Moderna bivalent vaccine recommendations and ordering information for young children is highlighted below to decrease confusion that still exists.

Everyone 6 months and older is now receiving vaccine from the blue cap vial with a gray label.

  • Children 6 months to 11 years get the 0.25 ml dose and everyone 12 years and older gets 0.5 ml.

The only exception to this schedule is for children 6 months through 5 years who already received 2 monovalent doses of Moderna vaccine.

  • These children get 0.2 ml from the vial with the dark pink cap and yellow label.
