Public Health Emergency ends May 11

The ending of the Public Health Emergency does not change the availability of COVID-19 vaccine, or the reporting requirements outlined in the Provider Agreement. Vaccines will continue to be provided by the federal government through the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act. It is anticipated that COVID-19 vaccines will transition to the private market in early fall. More details about this transition will be included in future updates.

Pfizer single-dose vials available

Limited supplies of Pfizer vaccine single-dose vials for people 12 years and older (gray cap) are still available. Consider ordering these doses if you have a smaller clinic or are giving fewer doses regularly in your clinic, especially if you are often wasting 5 out of 6 doses in a vial. The minimum order quantity for these vials is 50 doses and the maximum is 150 doses. Please try to use all the multi-dose vials you currently have before changing to the single-dose vials.

MIIC forecaster update

MIIC staff continue to implement changes to the MIIC forecaster logic to align with CDC’s updated recommendations for COVID-19 vaccine. Continue to use clinical judgement and the CDC Interim Clinical Considerations: Use of COVID-19 Vaccines in the United States to inform decisions for immunization.
