The Cultural, Faith, and Disability Communities COVID-19 Update is being sent to the following three MDH mailing lists to reduce duplication:

Today's COVID-19 updates include:

This total reflects only the results from laboratory testing. There are more cases in Minnesota, and the virus is circulating in communities. It is important for everyone to take steps to protect themselves and others through vaccination, testing, staying home when sick, and more.

Vaccination Breakthrough Weekly Update:
Updated weekly, on Thursdays at 11 a.m.
All data is preliminary and may change as cases are investigated. Case and vaccine totals reflect only the results from laboratory testing and vaccinations that have been reported to the Minnesota Department of Health.
Data may not align exactly with the cases reported on other pages or dashboards due to differences in reporting lags and the frequency with which the data are updated.
What the vaccine breakthrough data do continue to show is vaccines provide protection against COVID-19, particularly against severe illness and hospitalization or death, and we are seeing this protection strengthened when people get a booster, especially for older adults. This means staying up to date on your COVID-19 vaccines, including a booster dose when eligible, is important.

CDC:
Have a COVID-19 Plan
Talk with your health care provider about whether you are at high risk of getting very sick from COVID-19.
People who are more likely to get very sick include older adults (ages 50 years or more, with risk increasing with age), people who are unvaccinated, and people with certain medical conditions, such as chronic lung disease, heart disease, or a weakened immune system.
Build your personal plan now by downloading CDC's COVID-19 Plan – available in English and Spanish. Edit and save your plan, and share it with your family, friends, and health care provider.

COVID-19 Vaccine and Pregnancy
Pregnant or thinking about getting pregnant? Make a COVID-19 vaccine or booster part of your planning! The changes that happen to your body during pregnancy could make you more likely to get very sick from COVID-19. Because COVID-19 during pregnancy increases the risk of an early delivery, getting a COVID-19 vaccine can also help protect your baby from serious health problems related to a premature birth. Talk to your doctor about getting a COVID-19 vaccine and other steps you can take to help you and your baby stay safe!
