2023 MN Rural Health Conference (MNRHC), June, 12-13

Now accepting sponsors

The Minnesota Rural Health Conference is now accepting sponsorship submissions for its 2023 conference – Reconnect. Renew. Revitalize. – to be held June 12-13 at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. Sponsorship levels offer various unique opportunities to connect with attendees. After filling out the online Sponsor Application Form, conference staff will follow up to complete the process. If you have any questions about sponsorship or the application process, please contact staff by email (ruralhealthconference@ruralcenter.org) or by phone (218)-464-6121. The deadline to reserve a sponsorship is Friday, May 12.

Exhibitor-only conference opportunities

The Minnesota's Rural Health Conference Exhibit Hall offers a prime opportunity for vendors, partners, and consultants to promote products and services that are relevant to rural health care organizations, health care professionals, health professions educators and students, and other stakeholders. General exhibitor registration will OPEN on Monday, April 3, at 9 a.m. CT.

Conference Silver Sponsors are eligible to register for exhibit space beginning on Monday, March 27, at 9 a.m. CT.

Grants and other funding

OPEN: Community Clinic Grant

The Community Clinic Grant supports the capacity of eligible organizations to plan, establish or operate clinical services for populations with low income and/or living in rural areas of the state. View the 2023 Community Clinic Grant Request for Proposal (PDF) for program information and application instructions. OPEN: HRSA National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment programs

The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) is now accepting applications for three loan repayment programs. Each program has a different award level and varying eligibility. 

In addition to tax-free loan repayment, awardees receive a competitive salary and a chance to have a significant impact on an underserved community. The application deadline is Tuesday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. ET.

OPEN: Advanced Nursing Education Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship (ANE-NPRF) Programs

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) released a new Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Advanced Nursing Education Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship (ANE-NPRF) Program, which aims to prepare new Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) to provide primary care by supporting transition to practice through the expansion and/or enhancement of existing Nurse Practitioner (NP) residency programs. The program also focuses on the integration of behavioral health and maternal health into primary care by training new primary care providers, behavioral health providers, and certified nurse midwives in community-based settings. 2023 Many Faces Conference

Call for presentations 

The 2023 Many Faces of Community Health Conference committee is seeking presenters experienced in working with populations from diverse communities that face significant health, social, and economic challenges. The Many Faces audience is made up of experienced professionals in the fields of community health, clinical care, public health, and health policy. The deadline to submit a presentation proposal is April 28, at 11:59 p.m.

Free Suicide Prevention Workshop for service providers in rural communities

Between 2000 and 2020, suicide rates rose 46% in non-metro areas compared to 27.3% in metro areas. Now more than ever, learning actionable skills to help individuals at risk can make a critical difference. This free half-day workshop is for service providers in rural communities and includes a special focus on youth, substance use, and Indigenous communities. It will feature demonstrations, active discussion groups, and access to the latest research on best practices. For a year after the workshop—at no cost—attendees can take advantage of ongoing support, including monthly Q&A video calls and online discussion forums. Register now and choose from one of three workshop dates - March 21, May 23, or July 25 from 12:00-3:30 p.m. ET.

The newly released NRHA - Faces of Rural video (7:12 minutes) describes a rural America that is incredibly diverse, innovative, and constantly evolving. It is part of the National Rural Health Association's (NRHA) Faces of Rural Campaign that showcase the diversity and power of rural communities. Save the date

The National Rural EMS & Care Conference will be held virtually, April 18-20.

The inaugural Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Health Equity Conference will be held June 7 - 8. The free conference will be held at Howard University, Washington, D.C. for in-person participation as well as streamed virtually for online participation. Based on the CMS Framework for Health Equity 2022-2032, conference attendees will share research, ideas, and initiatives that are measurably reducing disparities in CMS programs and increasing equity for all.

The 2023 Minnesota Rural Health Conference will be held, June 12 - 13, in Duluth, MN.

The 2023 Many Faces of Community Health Conference will be August 10-11, in Bloomington.
