 Escape the Vape Video Challenge Returns for 2023
The Escape the Vape Video Challenge is a contest where Minnesota middle and high school students can use their voice to raise awareness about the dangers of vaping. To participate, students must submit a 30 second public service announcement (PSA) to educate their peers, schools, families, and community on the risks of vaping nicotine.
Students will have a chance to win up to $500, as well as $500 for their associated school or organization.
Contest Prizes
- Cash prizes for the top five entries in each division. First place winners will receive $500 for both the student and their school or organization
- Escape the Vape beanies for the first 100 entrants.
- Escape the Vape stainless steel water bottles for the top 25 entries in each division.

NEW FOR 2023: The school with the highest percentage of participating students will receive a $1,000 award.
Key Dates

Month of February: Video submissions accepted.

March 24, 2023: Finalists announced.

March 24 through April 6, 2023: Public voting on the finalist videos.

April 7, 2023: Winners announced and prizes awarded.
Request a School Promo Kit
Promotional kits are available for the first 65 schools that submit a request and include tools to help spread the word about this opportunity for your students. Kits will include:
- Escape the Vape promotional posters to hang in your school or organization.
- Escape the Vape swag, such as drawstring backpacks, lanyards, pens, lip balm, phone wallets, buttons, and more.
- Additional items from sponsors at Allina Health and Tobacco-Free Kids.

The Escape the Vape Video Challenge is a program coordinated by ACET Inc. in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Health. The contest is sponsored by the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota, Allina Health, Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, Twin Cities Orthopedics, and Oxboro Family Chiropractic.
