MDH WIC Website Changes
The MDH WIC website will undergo a phased redesign project now through the end of next year. In the next month or so, many of the WIC home pages (participant, local agency, and vendor) will be updated using a new format. A second revision will occur when MDH undergoes a style change as it moves to a new Content Management System, tentatively scheduled before the end of the year. Learn more about the changes in the September 2022 HuBERT Hints #1 on the 2022 HuBERT Hints page.
New Resource: Help Me Connect Waiting Room Video
A new Help Me Connect video is now available on the About Help Me Connect webpage. The nine-minute video is designed to be played in spaces where families may be waiting for services, such as health care clinics, WIC clinics, Early Childhood Screening, and more. It includes information about early childhood and family support services available to Minnesota families with young children birth to 8 years old. Use the YouTube links below or contact helpmeconnect@state.mn.us to request the MP4 files. 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is now the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and is active across the United States. The new, shorter phone number will make it easier for people to remember and access mental health crisis services. (The previous 1-800-273-TALK (8255) number will continue to function indefinitely.)
Since the transition on July 16, calls have increased 44%, chats 173%, and text 250%.
There are three ways to connect:
-
Call 988 (routed based on area code to local crisis centers & third party interpretation services available)
-
Chat 988lifeline.org (web browser based, English only)
-
Text 988 (mobile device, English only)
