Pre-ordering vaccine for younger kids

Our second pre-ordering event for Pfizer under-5 and Moderna under-6 vaccine is open Thursday, June 9 and will close at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 13. Vaccine ordered during this event is expected to be delivered between June 23 and June 29. We recommend ordering a conservative number of doses during pre-ordering. Consider ordering a small amount to have on hand at launch, then assess your practice's demand and order more as needed. Supply is adequate, but the amount available to states at this time is allocated based on population. There will be more opportunities to order vaccine following authorization and release of CDC recommendations.

Comirnaty gray cap vaccine availability

Both the Comirnaty and Pfizer-BioNTech gray cap vaccines will be available to order next week. Comirnaty is licensed and the Pfizer-BioNTech is approved through emergency use authorization (EUA). Both products have the same storage and handling guidelines and a gray cap. Refer to the CDC: COVID-19 Vaccine Quick Reference Guide for details. The vial contents are identical and interchangeable, however Comirnaty is only licensed for people 16 years of age and older while the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is authorized for ages 12 years and older. Each product has a unique label with the image below reflecting the differences.
