Proposal Reviewers Needed: Commercial Tobacco-Free Communities Grant Program
The Minnesota Department of Health has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Commercial Tobacco-Free Communities Grant Program. We are seeking a diverse and knowledgeable review team.
It is anticipated that this new program will fund 10-12 grants to community-based organizations that will work to create community-driven changes to policies, practices, systems, and environments to reduce commercial tobacco use and secondhand smoke exposure among populations experiencing commercial tobacco-related disparities.
If you are interested in participating in this review process, please submit a quick, 5-minute application by Friday, June 10, 2022. If you are employed or a volunteer of an organization applying for this grant opportunity, your reviewer application may not be accepted. If your application is accepted, you will be asked to complete and send a Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form prior to reading proposals.
Please note the following:
-
Reviewers are required to attend a training webinar, as well as a full-day virtual review meeting.
-
Training Webinar: Monday, July 11, from noon to 1 p.m. Central Time. If reviewers are unable to attend, they must notify MDH in advance.
-
Virtual Review Meeting: Wednesday, July 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central Time.
- Proposals and reviewer instructions will be emailed to reviewers on Tuesday, July 12.
- Reviewers will each read and score about 5-6 grant proposals.
-
Proposal must be read and scored by Friday, July 22. Scores will be submitted online.
- Reviewers must be able to keep confidential the names of applicant organizations and proposal contents until grant agreements are finalized (expected in the fall).
- Reviewers who are otherwise not being compensated for their time through their workplace will be compensated by the MDH Commercial Tobacco Prevention and Control Program at a flat rate of $250.
Please keep in mind, we will likely receive more applications than reviewers needed. We may not be able to accept all applicants.
