Medical cannabis patient survey results released

The Office of Medical Cannabis (OMC) conducted a satisfaction survey in October 2021 to gather feedback and opinions from patients in Minnesota's Medical Cannabis Program.

The survey was emailed to 26,557 patients who are enrolled in the program. The data collection period closed after three weeks, with 3,955 completed surveys returned.

About the survey

The survey had 34 questions that covered a range of topics, including:

• Getting certified and enrolling
• Locations of the Medical Cannabis Dispensaries
• Experiences at the dispensaries
• Costs

Among the survey results

• 58% of the patients who responded strongly agreed or somewhat agreed that the distance traveled to their Medical Cannabis Dispensary is reasonable.
• 69% strongly agreed or somewhat agreed that they could find products they were looking for at their dispensary, while 82% strongly agreed or somewhat agreed that they could find the information they were looking for at their dispensary.
• 53% somewhat disagreed or strongly disagreed that the annual registration fee is affordable.
• 71% were very likely or somewhat likely to try dried cannabis flower when it becomes available.
