The MDH Minnesota Climate & Health Program and MCAP are jointly hosting a Minnesota Climate Data Community of Practice (CoP) meeting on Thursday, Aug. 12 from 1–2:30 p.m. CT.

The meeting will include a tutorial on how to use the Minnesota Climatology Office's Climate Explorer Tool and an overview of recently acquired funding for even higher resolution climate projections.

Anyone is welcome to attend this meeting to learn more! MDH encourages those working in public health, natural resources, transportation, emergency management, pollution control, commerce, planning, and design, as well as any other data-users working in state or local government, to join the Minnesota Climate Data CoP.

After the presentations on Aug. 12, there will be an opportunity to discuss ways to keep moving the CoP forward. The CoP formed in 2019 to build capacity for using climate projection data to increase climate resiliency for Minnesotans by:

  • Sharing insights for obtaining, selecting, preparing, and applying available climate projection datasets specific to Minnesota.
  • Supporting public sector adaptation efforts that use climate projection data for increasing climate resiliency for Minnesotans.
  • Fostering a community of climate projection data users to share knowledge and resources.
