Happy Friday, HRD! It feels like the week has simultaneously been too long and too short; hopefully you have some fun plans for the weekend, whether that’s resting or activities you enjoy.
Today is our HRD Town Hall for July! We’ll be doing a retrospective of all the amazing things we’ve accomplished this year – and it’s a lot. As always, if you aren’t able to make it the slides and recording will be made available for you in the MDH_HRD team and on our SharePoint homepage.
We restarted our Redesign Conversations this week with a series exploring each team and functional area. This week, we heard from Martha with an overview of the Shared Services area, and Hardi introduced the Budget Unit within Shared Services. The Shared Services group will perform some of the functions (like cash management and supply orders) that were previously handled by individual programs in order to centralize and streamline these processes. Here’s what the agenda looks like for the next few sessions:
- July 20: Admin Generalist, Admin Specialist, Call Center
- July 27: Intake and Case Mix Review (CMR)
- Aug 3: Policy, Rules, and Reconsiderations, Planning and Partnerships
- Aug 10: State Evaluation and Rapid Response, Federal Evaluation and Rapid Response
- Aug 17: Triage (State and Federal) and Evaluation Workload Scheduling (EWS)
- Aug 24: Enforcement and Licensing, Credentialing, and Registration (LCR)
With all these new teams, we have some new ways to communicate. As a division, we want to move towards emailing teams, rather than individuals, to make sure that issues can be handled or requests can be received by a group rather than a single person. This balances the workload a bit and ensures that one person doesn’t slow progress if they’re busy or out of the office. You can reach the following teams at their emails:
This week we’re featuring Erika, one of our Mortician Investigators. Erika is super knowledgeable in her field and spent a bunch of time helpfully answering all of our questions about green burial at our last Intro to HRD session. We hope you enjoy learning more about her!
