COVID-19 response information for businesses

If you have questions or concerns about how to handle the COVID-19 response for your employees, check out these updates, information, and resources for businesses:

Employer telework resources during COVID-19

As businesses navigate these times of uncertainty, Commuter Services would like to advise employers of free telework resources available to help ease any worksite transitions you might be experiencing. Free resources to assist employers in implementing immediate or long-term telework strategies include sample telework policies, home safety guidelines, sample teleworker agreements, and tips for manager and teleworker success.

Help employees with aches & pains start walking

person walking in the woods

In this time of social distancing, many people are starting to walk to relieve stress and get outdoors. If you have older employees or employees with aches, pains, and/or arthritis, the Minnesota Department of Health offers an easy program to help people gently begin a six week walking program.

Once registered, participants will receive a welcome e-mail and the Walk with Ease Guidebook shipped to them within a week of registration.  Books are free while supplies last. Participants register online at https://oaactionalliance.typeform.com/to/sW4XFZ.

If you'd like to coordinate a walking program to support your employees in their remote walking, contact health.arthritis@state.mn.us to receive a Walk With Ease Coordinator Manual.

Become a Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace

The Minnesota Department of Health recognizes workplaces that have demonstrated their commitment to supporting breastfeeding employees by creating a lactation support program. Learn more at MDH Breastfeeding Friendly Workplaces.

Quitline:1-800-QUITNOW

Minnesota's New Commercial Tobacco Cessation Programs

We are excited to announce the launch of Quit Partner (1-800-QUIT-NOW), Minnesota’s new family of programs to help people who want to quit smoking, vaping, chewing or using other commercial tobacco products.

Free quitting help for Minnesotans was previously offered by QUITPLAN® Services, which stopped accepting new enrollees after March 31, 2020. In 2019, the Minnesota legislature approved funding for MDH to continue providing all Minnesota residents with free support to quit commercial tobacco.

Quit Partner offers many free support options and resources for Minnesota residents to help them quit in a way that works best for them. Quit Partner offers specialized programs for people living with mental illnesses or substance use disorders, American Indian communities (American Indian Quitline), pregnant and post-partum women, and youth ages 13-17 (My Life, My Quit).

Visit the Quit Partner website to learn more.
