October is National Farm to School Month
Two statewide events are planned
October is National Farm to School Month, a time to celebrate the connections happening all over the country between children and local food.
Encourage and support schools, early care sites and other partners to participate! To learn more about ways to participate, contact Stephanie Heim at heim0106@umn.edu.
Two statewide events are planned:
October 3: Join schools across the state in kicking off the school year with Minnesota Thursdays. Celebrate the power of procurement as Minnesota kicks off National Farm to School Month with a locally sourced menu.
October 10: Get your crunch on! Participate in the 6th Annual Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch. This is a simple way to feature Farm to School in a loud way. Participants will crunch into a healthy, delicious local apple to show support for National Farm to School Month. Register for the Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch.
