Updated statewide immunization rates
MIIC’s assessment reports get a little refresh every July with updated Minnesota average immunization rates. The statewide averages can help you see how immunization rates for the populations you serve measure up to the rest of the state. Want to learn more about assessment reports? See our Immunization Assessment resources to get started.
Influenza vaccination coverage for 2018-19 season
The CDC recommends that everyone ages 6 months and older receives an annual flu vaccine. In the 2018-19 season, MIIC showed vaccination rates of:
- 58% for individuals ages 24-35 months.
- 27% for individuals ages 13-17 years.
- 33% for individuals ages 18-64 years.
- 69% for individuals ages 65 years and older.

We still have a ways to go to make sure Minnesotans are protected from flu! Check out flu rates for the population you serve by running MIIC's Single Vaccine Assessment Report. You can use the report to identify gaps and set improvement goals for the upcoming season. If you need help, check out the user guidance on our Immunization Assessment page or contact the MIIC Help Desk at health.miichelp@state.mn.us.
St. Paul Public Schools
MIIC can help schools keep track of immunization records and make sure their community is protected from serious diseases. Saint Paul Public Schools uses MIIC throughout the school year to assess student immunization records and get information for the Annual Immunization Status Report – a report that Minnesota schools must submit each year summarizing the immunization status of enrolled students. Mary Cooper (pictured at right), systems analyst for Saint Paul Public Schools, regularly uses MIIC’s Submit Client Query feature to get immunization information that she can upload directly into their school software system. “Saint Paul Public Schools uses the query process about 18 times a year, so having a system that is easy to use is so important," Cooper said. "The MIIC website is very easy to use, and we always receive help quickly when needed. The nurses rely on up to date immunization information. I'm very grateful for the people behind MIIC!” Thank you for all your wonderful work to help keep students healthy, Saint Paul Public Schools!
