Jackson County BFC

Jackson becomes Bike Friendly

Jackson, a rural community located in southwest Minnesota, was recognized in May as a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Community. This comes after years of working to improve access to bicycling. Now, with more than five miles of multiple purpose paved trails completed, Jackson has hit the ground pedaling.

Since 2011, Jackson County has completed multiple projects with SHIP at the table, providing funding and technical support to improve the infrastructure for pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and transit riders of all ages and abilities. In February 2018, they submitted a Bike Friendly Community application which resulted in the recent bronze status.

Congratulations to Community Wellness Partners and the Jackson County Friends of the Trails Committee for collaborating successfully to help Jackson become recognized as a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Community.
