Reminder to SHIP Grantees

SHIP acknowledgment reminder

This is a reminder that as part of our statewide communications efforts, we are asking partners to acknowledge funding support from the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership on communications materials, including evaluation reports.

This can be accomplished by using the statewide logo and if possible, by including some content about SHIP as a funding source.

This helps SHIP to continue building a strong statewide presence. Electronic files of SHIP logos are available at the Grantee Support Communications web page.

This Week's Gem

cart with fresh fruits on display

LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau has amplified its worksite wellness initiatives, beginning with having two Wellness Coordinators on staff who work with SHIP, the CLT committee and others to support community wellness.

Some new initiatives include:  the Wellness on Wheels carts that make wellness information more readily available to all employees and provide free fruit and other healthy snacks periodically (pictured); One Vegetable- One Community program that showcases a vegetable each year; and fruit-infused water stations in the employee dining room and gift shop area.

In addition, LifeCare Medical Center was recently recognized as a Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace by the Minnesota Department of Health.  The center remodeled a lactation room and updated the breastfeeding policy, among other changes, to receive this certification.

SHIP funds helped LifeCare Medical Center with implementing many of these initiatives, and we salute them on making wellness a priority!
