The MDH Tobacco Prevention and Control Unit is conducting a
statewide community input process to address the disproportionately higher
rates of commercial tobacco use and secondhand smoke exposure among many of our
communities. For more information: http://www.health.state.mn.us/divs/hpcd/tpc/initiatives/input.html
We are specifically seeking insights from those most impacted by
the harms of commercial tobacco. This will help inform our policy and program
development as we move forward with advancing health equity in tobacco control.
To complete the online survey click on this link: Community Voices: Reducing Tobacco-Related Health Inequities. The deadline for completing this survey is Friday, December
11. Contact Christine Godwin at 651-201-3615 or christine.godwin@state.mn.us with
questions.
This informational session will provide an overview of what tobacco users experience when they call QUITPLAN Services. They will play a recording of a mock registration call and a coaching session.
Please RSVP by email to Pamela Jensen at pjensen@clearwaymn.org by Friday, December 4 so they can be
sure to have enough available phone lines. Call-in information will be provided

The
Tobacco Prevention and Evaluation Program at UNC Family Medicine has found that
where a person lives determines the likelihood of there being single cigarettes
or improperly marketed and displayed tobacco products for sale in their
neighborhood – potentially leading to easier and cheaper access to tobacco. Click here for more information.
