SEDRA Other Licensed Folder Number Effective for Fiscal Year 2024
All employees or contractors requiring a license to practice their profession must be appropriately licensed for the position in which they are employed and the duties they perform. Audiologists, occupational and physical therapists, qualified mental health professionals, and other professional positions listed below are not licensed through the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB). These professional positions must meet recognized professional standards for their area of specialty through other organizations that license or provide certification for their field. A new field has been created in SEDRA called “Other Licensed Folder Number” to record licenses and certification number other than PELSB license numbers for State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2024 and later years.
The new field is used to record licensure or certification numbers when the licensing authority is not PELSB:
- Personnel Type Code 4 – Physical Therapy Services
- Personnel Type Code 5 – Occupational Therapy Services
- Personnel Type Code 14 – Audiologist
- Personnel Type Code 16 – Consultant (Approval Required)
- Personnel Type Code 25 – Other Licensed/Certified Therapist (Approval Required)
- Personnel Type Code 28 – Interpreter for the Deaf
- Personnel Type Code 29 – Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) for Visually Impaired
- Personnel Type Code 38 – Security Specialist (Approval Required)
- Personnel Type Code 40 – Social Worker for Interagency Activities
- Personnel Type Code 44 – License Nursing Services (for Students with IEP/IFSP)
- Personnel Type Code 48 – Behavior Specialist
- Personnel Type Code 49 – Qualified Mental Health Professional (MHP)
- Personnel Type Code 55 – Mentors for Interpreters of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Personnel Type Code 57 – Contracted Therapeutic Recreational Services
An example for this scenario would be that a behavior specialist is a teacher licensed in Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD), or licensed psychologist, or is board certified, trained and competent in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and designing and implementing positive behavioral interventions and support. This new field is created for reporting the licensing number of other, non-PELSB certifications like a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), which is issued through the Department of Human Services.
See Special Education Funding Guide Section 12 – Personnel Type Codes for more information on licensure requirements.
