In observance of Juneteenth, MDE and state government offices are closed.

On July 1, MDE and other state agencies will adopt an updated accessibility standard. Twelve new criteria are being added to the State of Minnesota Accessibility Standard. Learn more about the new standard at Get Ready for WCAG 2.1! and WCAG 2.1 Role-Based Information.
If you do any of the tasks below, please review the following role-based information:
Do you…
- Create content with graphics or fillable fields?
- Create PDFs?
- Create eLearning or online learning content?
- Work in procurement?
- Create charts, graphs and maps (data visualization)?
The Communications Division has been providing training to content managers on applicable portions of the new standards. For those in other roles, please reach out to the Office of Accessibility if you have questions about the new standards.
We heard from Jay Wyant, Chief Information Accessibility Officer, in our last All Staff Meeting about these new standards and the importance of accessibility in serving all Minnesota residents. Thank you in advance for your dedication to making our content accessible to everyone.
