The MDE Website Has a New Look!
The new layout of the MDE website means there is a change to the navigation to the Ed-Fi webpage. To access the Ed-Fi webpage, follow these steps:
- On the MDE website, click on the "Data Submissions" button found in the middle of the page.
- Use the alphabetical menu on the left side of the Data Submissions webpage to find the "Ed-Fi" webpage listed.
- Click on Ed-Fi to navigate to the Ed-Fi webpage.

AEO Data Submissions Due June 30
Thank you to those who have already submitted Ancestry Ethnic Origin (AEO) data for the 2023-24 school year. AEO data needs to be submitted by June 30, 2024, to be included in the Counting All Students Annual Report. The form for families to fill out and the parent letter are available on the Ed-Fi Document webpage. Select AEO under data collection on the left-hand side. Additional information about AEO is available via the AEO Data Collection Fact Sheet. If you have questions or would like to schedule a time to talk, please email ed-fi.mde@state.mn.us.
AEO/Counting All Students in Ed-Fi Open Business Hour

Digital Equity Data Available
Statewide Digital Equity Data is available on MDE’s website for FY23 and FY24. Reminder that Digital Equity Data is a required data collection for K-12 schools updated annually by October 1 each school year. Use your student information system to update Digital Equity Data and sync via Ed-Fi.
Begin planning now for the 2024-25 school year by reviewing your data submission and planning for data refresh and updating for newly enrolled students.

Early Childhood Screening Records (MARSS PS)
Early Childhood Screening records (MARSS PS records) are required for children prior to or within the first 30 days of kindergarten or first grade in public schools (and in the 11 charters that elect to provide a screening program).
There are two updated EVDP (Ed-Fi Validation Data Portal) reports available for MARSS Coordinators to review screening program data for accuracy: “Early Childhood Screening Program Counts” and “Early Childhood Screening Student Detail.”
Good news: 71% of districts/charters are dual submitting 2023-2024 screening records (through MARSS A/B file uploads and Ed-Fi).

Save the Date! MCCC Spring Review
MCCC will offer three drop-in trainings during the last week of May and the first week of June. See the dates and times listed below. Topics will include:
- Tips for planning ahead for successful MCCC reporting.
- Things you can do now to be ready for reporting in the fall.
- Answers to questions you currently have.
Drop-in trainings will also be scheduled for mid-September to offer additional support and to answer questions.
