This notice is being sent to all Parent Aware Four-Star Rated family and center-based child care programs.
Pathway II Application Period
The Pathway II Early Learning Scholarship Application for fiscal years (FY) 2024 and 2025 will open on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 12 p.m. The application will close on at 4 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023.
Please note that the next Pathway II application will not be available until FY 2026-2027.
What are Pathway II scholarships?
- Pathway II scholarships are awarded to families through an eligible Parent Aware Four-Star rated program that has been granted Pathway II funds.
- Four-Star rated programs apply for funding from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). Funded programs receive a specific dollar amount, and then use their funds to award scholarships to families whose children attend the Pathway II program that meet eligibility requirements.
- Pathway II scholarship funding stays with the program to support other children if an awarded child leaves. The funding does not follow the child.
- Programs receiving Pathway II funding are responsible for collecting applications and eligibility documentation, determining if the child is eligible, managing award amounts and funding, requesting payment at least once per month, and keeping all documentation on file for seven years.

How Do I Apply?
The link to the online Pathway II application will be emailed to all Four-Star rated programs on Wednesday, February 1. Programs interested in funding must complete the application by 4 p.m. on Friday, February 24.
Who Can Apply?
All Parent Aware Four-Star rated programs are eligible to apply for funding. All programs must have and maintain a Parent Aware Four-Star rating in order to access Pathway II Early Learning Scholarships.
