Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) Bulletin for May 17, 2022

Announcements

Summer P-EBT 2022

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently released a summer 2022 guidance for states to create plans to operate summer P-EBT. Summer 2022 P-EBT will be available this summer to children who were eligible for P-EBT benefits during the current school year. This means all participating free and reduced-price lunch students must be entered into the portal to become eligible.

Updated guidance will be provided in future bulletins.

Updating Guardian/Address in the Portal

When a student’s guardian needs to be updated for P-EBT, this change must be initiated by the school in the P-EBT portal. Updating the guardian in the P-EBT portal authorizes the Department of Human Services (DHS) call center staff to speak to the new guardian listed.

If the student’s address also needs to be updated, the new guardian needs to complete the P-EBT Help Form to request a change of address and new card (if applicable). Parents should wait until the day after the P-EBT portal guardian information has been updated before submitting the change of address to DHS.

Benefit Transfer Message

If you see a red X when looking at the Sent to DHS field or a student at Step 3, this indicates that the data has not yet been sent to DHS for processing. Data is submitted to DHS after each data submission deadline and the Sent to DHS field is updated about a week after the deadline.

Next Portal Deadline – Please Upload Early

The Next Data Submission Deadline is May 31, 2022, at 4 p.m.
