General Updates
The last deadline for making updates to P-EBT portal student data for the 2020-21 school year is Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 4 p.m. After this, no further adjustments can be made to 2020-21 student data for school year 2020-21 and summer phase 1 P-EBT benefits. See below for resources on summer phase 2 benefits.
Use the P-EBT portal tools mentioned in the July 30, 2021, bulletin to identify students not sent to the Department of Human Services (DHS). The Data Entry Monitor dashboard has now been moved to the P-EBT portal homepage. Use dashboard reports to ensure data is accurate for student records submitted to the portal and to fix common errors that may prevent benefits from being processed for students.

Summer and School Year 2021-22 P-EBT Updates
Refer to the P-EBT website for information about summer P-EBT. Phase 1 summer benefits will be completed with the August 31 P-EBT portal deadline. Phase 1 included all students eligible for free or reduced-price meals enrolled in the last month of the 2020-21 school year. Students eligible for phase 2 include those that meet all the following criteria:
- Enrolled in the last month of the 2020-21 school year
- Enrolled in a school in your district that participated in the National School Lunch Program prior to March 2020
- Applied for educational benefits via the 2021-22 Application for Educational Benefits between July 1 and September 3, 2021, or included on the July or August 2021 Direct Certification report
- Approved for free or reduced-price meals from a 2021-22 Application for Educational Benefits received during the above timeline
Consider date stamping incoming Applications for Educational Benefits and developing a method to identify students who are eligible for phase 2 summer benefits. Additional information about how to upload these students' data will be available once technology adjustments can be made.

Change of Address and Undeliverable Cards
Remind parents that if they contact you to update their address for the purposes of P-EBT, they also need to update their address via the DHS help form. Updating the address in the P-EBT portal does not automatically transfer to the DHS systems.
Similarly, parents inquiring about undeliverable cards need to speak to a DHS call center representative. In most cases, the card was mailed, but the local postmaster may have refused delivery because the child’s name on the envelope did not match the name on file with the post office.
