Next Steps

The second deadline to submit student data in the P-EBT data portal is 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

If you already submitted your initial student data:

You need to make changes in the P-EBT portal only if one of the following situations occurs:

  • New student enrolls
  • Student withdraws (nonpublic schools only)
  • Student becomes eligible for free or reduced-price meals
  • Student chooses to begin or end self-elected distance learning

You may either re-upload the entire data file or make changes manually to individual students.

If you have NOT yet submitted your initial student data:

You must submit data for eligible students by March 31 at 4 p.m. in order for their P-EBT cards to be mailed at the end of April.

Important Reminders

  • Remember to update your Minnesota Automated Reporting Student System (MARSS) data regularly! Failure to keep it updated could result in a delay of benefits for your students. (public schools only)
  • Remember to keep your school learning model updated in the District and School Site Verification System.
  • Students approved for free or reduced-price (FRP) meals at any time during the 2020-21 school year are eligible for P-EBT retroactive to September. Please reach out to families who may be eligible but have not yet applied.
  • Please check for direct certification matches each month to determine if any students are newly eligible for FRP meals. If you identify matches, FRP data should be updated as soon as possible in MARSS. The student will also need to be added to the P-EBT portal. View Procedures for Direct Certification.
