Tomorrow, February 27, 2020, at 10 a.m. experts from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), including the newly appointed School Liaison for the COVID-19 Response, Susan Klammer, will host a call with superintendents and charter school leaders to give updates on COVID-19/Coronavirus and answer any questions that folks may have. The Minnesota Department of Education will be hosting calls each month during the school year with school district leaders and charter school directors. These calls offer an opportunity to discuss timely education topics and the agency supports available to districts.
Every other month, we will invite all districts and charters to participate in calls. Topics will focus on statewide issues and news of interest. The opposite months will focus on topics by region. We will use the regional service cooperatives map to identify which districts and charters to invite. See a list of districts organized by region.
Call-in and agenda information will be emailed in advance of each call. We encourage you to use the schedule below to add the statewide, and your specific regional call dates, to your calendar now.
Your participation provides us with valuable insight and feedback on education in Minnesota. We look forward to speaking with you soon!

- April 21, 2020: Statewide

- September 15, 2020: Region 6 & 8 (SW/W Central), Region 9 (Central), Region 10 (Southeast)

Minnesota schools and districts are invited to apply for the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) recognition system. The purpose of Minnesota PBIS recognition is to identify and recognize exemplar schools and districts that have completed PBIS implementation and are continuing to achieve positive student outcomes. These schools and districts are able to demonstrate exemplary status by sustaining schoolwide PBIS with fidelity in the current 2019-20 school year. Criteria are based on effective implementation of the essential components outlined by our national Technical Assistance Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support. Visit the PBIS-Minnesota website for applications and an overview. Applications are due March 20, 2020.
