National Foundation for Governors’ Fitness Councils

We wanted to send you a friendly reminder to nominate your school to receive a $100,000 fitness center! The National Foundation for Governors’ Fitness Councils (NFGFC) is gifting three Minnesota schools with a free, state-of-the-art fitness center as part of their DON’T QUIT! campaign. The goal of the campaign is to reward schools that prioritize physical activity but may not have adequate fitness resources. The fitness center will include strength training equipment, cardio fitness equipment, and a multi-exercise, circuit training system.

Nominations will be accepted through Friday, March 22, 2019. We strongly encourage all schools to apply, as this an incredible opportunity to positively impact the lives and future wellness of your students!

The MSS is voluntary for districts and schools, but historically there is high participation across the state. Register your district school for the MSS.

View a video tutorial on registering for the MSS.

View survey questions and instructions packet.

The survey is administered online to students and takes between 35 to 50 minutes to complete, including time for instructions. Districts that administer the MSS by March 29, 2019, will receive their data by the end of the school year.
