Superintendent and School Leader Communication Survey

On last month’s Dialogue with Superintendents and School Leaders we told you that we are examining the ways in which we communicate with you about important topics relevant to educators across the state. Please help us make improvements by responding to a short survey about our monthly phone calls for school leaders. Are they useful to you and your team? Are there ways we can improve the way we communicate with you regularly? Would you prefer a different format, like a podcast or video series? Please respond to the survey ASAP so we can discuss the results with you on next week’s monthly call.

Take the Superintendent and School Leader Communication Survey.

Attention Science Educators! Be a Part of Developing the New Science MCA-IV Specifications

The 2019 Minnesota K-12 Science Education Standards are currently being written and will be completed in May. The process of developing a statewide assessment aligned to the new science standards requires creation of new test specifications. Test specifications are the foundation that links the science standards to the MCAs to validly measure student proficiency. We are looking for a diverse group of K-12 teacher leaders who will use their expertise to help develop these specifications.

Committee selection will emphasize balance of demographics, grade levels and content areas. The committee will meet for a total of seven days (August 6-8, October 29-30 and March 3-4, 2020) at MDE in Roseville through spring 2020. Committee members must commit to attending all meetings.

Members will receive an honorarium and per diem for travel expenses as needed. If you or anyone on your teams are interested in being considered for this committee, complete an application by April 12 or contact Jim Wood at 651-582-8541 or Judi Iverson at 651-582-8651 for more information.

Apply to be a member of the Science MCA-IV Test Specifications Committee.
