Meet November's Featured Teacher

Allison Zaccardi

Our Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom (MAITC) team is celebrating the 2025-26 school year by featuring an awesome teacher who uses agriculture as a content for teaching and learning each month. Our November featured teacher is Ms. Allison Zaccardi! 

Allison Zaccardi, a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at Harding High School in St. Paul, Minnesota, weaves agriculture into her classroom through hands-on projects, field trips, guest experts, and MAITC lessons to spark curiosity and open pathways for future learning and careers.

Turkey Farm Virtual Field Trip

Turkey Farm Virtual Field Trip

When: Tuesday, November 25, 2025 10:00 a.m.

 What: Join us for an up-close look at a turkey farm near Northfield, Minnesota! On this virtual field trip, turkey farmer John Zimmerman will introduce us to his flock and show us where they live and what they eat. We’ll learn how turkeys are cared for so we can enjoy them during our Thanksgiving meal. This is a seasonal virtual field trip you won’t want to miss! 

This is a 30 min virtual field trip targeted to K-5 students.

This virtual field trip will also be streamed live on YouTube and a recording will be available for later viewing.

National Agriculture in the Classroom Grants

Classroom Grant

The National Agriculture in the Classroom Organization (NAITC) has teamed-up with CHS and CoBank to provide $500 classroom grants to PreK-12th grade teachers whose classroom projects use agricultural concepts to teach reading, writing, math, nutrition, science and/or social studies.

Grant proposals are due November 15, 2025.


NAITCO Conference Scholarships

Conference Scholarship

Scholarships are available for PreK-12th grade teachers to attend the National Agriculture in the Classroom (NAITCO) conference, "Illuminating Agriculture" taking place June 22-25, 2026 in Providence, Rhode Island.

The scholarship covers one conference registration and up to three nights of lodging. Thanks to CHS and Nutrien for making this opportunity possible.

Scholarship Applications are due by December 15, 2025.
