March Virtual Field Trip

Virtual Field Trip: West Central Area Schools

Join us on Zoom for an exciting look into growing plants!

When: Thursday, March 20, 2025, 1:00 p.m.

Have you ever wondered if you could grow plants without soil? This is just the virtual field trip for you, as we will learn more about how to do just that. Come along with us as we head to the greenhouse at West Central Area Schools, where you will have the opportunity to experience a hydroponics greenhouse system that is being used for elementary classrooms. This will be a rewarding opportunity for your students to learn about growing food for your school and community.

This 30-minute virtual field trip is targeted to K-5 students.

This virtual field trip will also be streamed live on YouTube and a recording will be available for later viewing.

First Year Teacher Grants

The MAITC Program and Foundation recognize that first-year teachers face a unique set of challenges as they begin their teaching career. The goals of this first-year teacher grant program are to:

  1. Support first-year educators in integrating agriculture into their classroom and curriculum.
  2. Allow MAITC to establish and grow relationships with college students as they transition to employment in schools and educational settings.

First-year teachers are strongly encouraged to complete the short application to receive funds to kick-start agricultural education integration in their classroom and curriculum.
