As the 2023-24 school year ends, Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom (MAITC) wants to thank all educators who have explored agriculture with their students! Teachers, we sincerely appreciate your energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to integrate agriculture into your classrooms and curricula. We hope you find many opportunities to rest and recharge this summer. THANK YOU!
We'd love to provide fun and educational items for your summer events (Example: Breakfast on the Farm!). Check out our "Agriculture is Everywhere" posters. Their 11-by-17-inch size makes them perfect for placemats! Use our online order form to request what you need.
Teachers love Farm Camp! Here's what a 7th grade teacher from St. Cloud had to share after her students embarked on a recent Farm Camp Experience:
"The ag hosts did a terrific job of engaging the students and teaching them about their work and the possibilities that exist for students. It was also such a meaningful experience to help students know where their food comes from. The students were ecstatic to be on farms, seeing animals, and tasting things. It was such a wonderful experience. Thank you for making it possible. Such an incredible gift!"
Visit the Farm Camp website to get connected with the program director and brainstorm Summer Farm Camp opportunities for the students in your community!
June Trivia Question: June is National Dairy Month! Dairy cattle have a four-chambered stomach that allows them to digest roughages like grass and alfalfa. What are the names of these four stomach chambers?
Send your answer to sue.knott@state.mn.us. The first two people to respond with the correct answer will win an MAITC travel mug.
