1,276 producers, 929,026 acres, 2,552 new practices

Over $50,000 has been awarded to MAWQCP certified producers for climate smart practices
Through the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program's Climate Smart Farms Project, producers are working with local representatives to explore the existing and potential climate benefits unique to their land and management. Climate-smart farming practices can mitigate climate change, build farm resiliency, and may provide producers with a new income stream through climate and carbon marketplaces.
Certified producers who have obtained the Climate Smart Farm Endorsement are eligible for a payment of $1,000 through the MAWQCP Climate Smart Farms Project. If you would like to apply, please contact your local Certification Specialist. Funding for this project was provided by a grant from the McKnight Foundation.
