Let's Celebrate Beef Month!

May is National Beef Month and we are here to celebrate! Join us for a beef-themed virtual field trip and explore our Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom (MAITC) resources to find fun connections between agriculture and science, social studies, math, and health and nutrition.


May Virtual Field Trip: Brenny Beef Farm

Join us as we visit Brenny Farms near Mazeppa, Minnesota. Ted and Katie Brenny are fifth-generation farmers. They raise beef cattle and are also committed to being environmental stewards of the land by improving water quality and natural habitat.

Minnesota History: Football and Farming Virtual Event

Fuel Up to play 60 vikings

Midwest Dairy is inviting forth-sixth grade students and teachers to join retired Minnesota Vikings linebacker, Chad Greenway, and Minnesota dairy farmer, Charles Krause, as they bring your classroom on a mini-tour of the Vikings Museum. They’ll also have an engaging discussion about the changes to their respective football and dairy farming “fields” over the years. Classrooms will have a chance to earn fun prizes, including signed merchandise and museum tickets.

Virtual Summer Teacher Tours

We are excited to offer Virtual Summer Teacher Tours that will inspire and empower educators to infuse agriculture into their science, social studies, language arts and health/nutrition curricula! Attendees will virtually explore the world of agriculture by visiting farms, processing centers, research facilities, and even have the chance for some culinary fun with a professional chef! Resources, hands-on activities, and interactive ideas for integrating agriculture in your curriculum will be also be discussed and shared.

Wheat tour

WHEAT: From the Farm to the Plate

June 15th, 2021, 9:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m.

Follow wheat from the farm to flour grinding and pasta making! Virtual tours and live Q & A will occur at a wheat farm, Baker's Field Stone Mill, and Northern Crops Institute processing facilities. An evening culinary experience is part of this virtual tour!

Pilot Minnesota's New Harvest of the Month Program

Harvest of the Month Program Goals

Are you interested in building your school’s Farm to School programming and could use some help figuring out how to get started? The Minnesota Departments of Agriculture and Education (MDA, MDE) invite school-based teams to apply to pilot the Minnesota Harvest of the Month (HOTM) program next school year.

Farm Camp Minnesota

If you love virtual agriculture field trips, you'll love our Minnesota Ag in the Classroom's newest initiative: Farm Camp Minnesota! This three-day immersive experience for students pairs in-classroom learning with an on-farm tour. Having an open conversation with farmers and ag businesses allows for deeper knowledge of ag careers, systems and connections.
