The J. M. Smucker Company Issues Recall of Special Kitty® Wet, Canned Cat Food

December 5, 2019 – The J. M. Smucker Company has recalled Special Kitty® wet, canned cat food due to health concerns potentially associated with ingredients believed to not meet the Company’s quality and safety standards.

The specific product is Special Kitty® Mixed Grill Dinner Pate. In addition to being sold individually this product is also sold as part of variety packs. If pet parents have any of the products below in their possession, they should stop feeding it to their cats and dispose of the product.

Ingesting impacted product may cause nausea with excessive salivation, diarrhea or vomiting to more severe symptoms including difficulty walking, seizures and, in extreme situations, death.

These products are sold in grocery stores nationwide and online.

CATSMO LLC. Recalls Smoked Salmon

December 10, 2019 – CATSMO LLC. is recalling Cold Smoked Salmon because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The recalled product was distributed in 11 states through retail stores and direct delivery as follows: NY, CT, NJ, MN, NC, FL, VA, MA, IL, PA and Washington D.C.

The product comes in a vacuum-sealed plastic package in whole fillets, specialty cuts, 4 oz., 8oz., or 1lb. sizes and are either plain or flavored.

Package markings of the recalled products are listed here. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this issue.

The potential for contamination is a result of a routine FDA environmental sampling and analysis.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled product are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 845-895-2296 Monday through Friday 9am to 4pm EST.

White Castle Frozen Food Division Recalls Frozen Sandwiches

December 6, 2019 – White Castle has initiated a recall of frozen 6 pack cheeseburgers, frozen 6 pack hamburgers, frozen 6 pack jalapeno cheeseburgers, 16 pack hamburgers, and 16 pack cheeseburgers for the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

The recall will impact product on shelves at select retailers with best by dates ranging from 04 Aug 2020 to 17 Aug 2020. Any product with these dates on shelves is presently being removed.

Customers who may have purchased any of the products indicated (product codes listed here) are urged to dispose of them or return them to the store where they were purchased for an exchange or full refund and to consult with their physician regarding any medical questions.

Nassau Candy Distributors Recalls Dark Chocolate Graham Crackers

December 5, 2019 Nassau Candy Distributors is recalling two lots of 7.5 OZ (212g) Nancy Adams, Dark Chocolate Graham Crackers because they may contain undeclared milk allergens.

The recalled Nancy Adams, Dark Chocolate Graham Crackers UPC: 618645275860 were distributed to limited Retailers and Distributors Nationwide. The product cones in a brown paper bag packaging with a clear window with Best by and Best if Used by Dates of 4/30/20, 5/1/20, 5/21/20, 6/30/20, 8/4/20, stickered to the bottom of the bag.

Consumers who have purchased 7.5-ounce Nancy Adams, Brown Bag Dark Chocolate Grahams are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with any questions may contact Nassau Candy at 516-433-7100 extensions 6130 or 7297.

Ruiz Food Products, Inc. Recalls Frozen Sausage Breakfast Burrito Products

December 10, 2019 Ruiz Food Products Inc. is recalling frozen, not ready-to-eat breakfast burrito products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically pieces of plastic.

The burrito products were produced on 10/15/2019.

The following products are subject to recall:

  • 3.38-lb. Value Pack, containing 12 individually wrapped, 4.5-oz. “EL MONTEREY Signature BURRITO EGG, SAUSAGE & CHEESE” with a “Best if Used By” date of 01/15/2021 and a lot code of 19288.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST 45694” printed on the value pack bag and the individual wrappings, next to the lot code. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.                              

The problem was discovered through consumer complaints involving pieces of white, semi-rigid plastic found in the product.
