Recall of Thrive Market Nut Butters Due to Potential Health Risk

January 24, 2019– Thrive Market, Inc, is recalling all unexpired lots of the Thrive Market-branded nut butters listed below due to the potential for contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

The Products were distributed nationwide via Thrive Market’s ecommerce subscription service to its members, as well as other online retailers.

Mrs. Grissom’s Salads Recalls Pimento Cheese

January 18, 2019Mrs. Grissom’s Salads is recalling Mrs. Grissom’s SELECT Old Fashioned Pimento Cheese produced on December 13, 2018 because it may have been packaged incorrectly, with the correct Pimento Cheese label on top lid, but a Chicken salad label on the container. The Pimento Cheese may contain allergens not listed on the products ingredient label, Specifically Milk.

This voluntary recall includes only Mrs. Grissom’s SELECT Old Fashioned Pimento Cheese with a printed date of MAR 13 2019.

Containers of Mrs. Grissom’s SELECT Old Fashioned Pimento Cheese (Orange in Color) are visibly different from Mrs. Grissom’s SELECT Cranberry Chicken Pecan Salad (White with Cranberries) both in color and ingredients..

No other varieties are affected by this recall.

General Mills Recalls Five Pound Bags of Gold Medal Unbleached Flour

January 23, 2019General Mills has issued a recall of five-pound bags of its Gold Medal Unbleached Flour with a better if used by date of April 20, 2020. The recall is being issued after samples tested by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture Laboratory were positive for Salmonella.

This voluntary recall includes the following code date currently in stores or consumers’ pantries:

Package UPC: 000-16000-19610-0
Recalled Better if Used by Date: 20APR2020KC

Woody’s Pet Food Deli Recalls Raw Free Range Turkey Pet Food

January 28, 2019: Woody’s Pet Food Deli has issued a recall of their raw turkey pet food due to Salmonella contamination. This recall is being issued after product samples collected by the MDA tested positive for Salmonella. Sampling was begun after the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) identified a human case of Salmonella linked to the pet food.

The recalled product was sold in 5-pound plastic containers labeled “Woody’s Pet Food Deli Raw Free Range Turkey” and can be identified by the white date sticker on the cover of the pet food container. The product was sold at Woody’s Pet Food Deli locations in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Woodbury. The following three lots of product are being recalled:

  • Use by date: 01/10/20
  • Use by date: 01/12/20
  • Use by date: 01/15/20

If you have recalled product in your home, you should throw it out or return it to a Woody’s Pet Food Deli for a full refund. Do not feed the contaminated product to pets.

The person with Salmonella infection was identified as part of an ongoing, multistate investigation of Salmonella Reading infections coordinated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). MDH’s interview of the person revealed that Woody’s Pet Deli raw ground turkey pet food was regularly fed to a pet in the household.
