Bruschetta recall

Cut Fruit Express, Inc. Recalls Fresh Bruschetta Mixed and Dips Because of Undeclared Soy and Milk

April 6, 2018 – Cut Fruit Express, Inc. of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota is recalling packaged Bruschetta Mixes and Dips distributed through 4/4/2018, with Use-by Dates as listed below, since they may contain undeclared milk and soy.

The voluntary recall extends only to the products with the Use-by Dates listed below and sold to distributors or retailers in Minnesota.  The distributors may have distributed the product to other states.

  • Food Service Bruschetta Dip. 5 lb. Use-by: 4/5/2018 - 4/12/2018.
  • H. Brooks Bruschetta Dip. 5 lb. UPC: 038232389143. Use-by: 4/5/2018 - 4/12/2018.
  • H. Brooks- Taste Buds Bruschetta Mix. 12 oz, UPC: 038232374033. Use-by: 4/5/2018 - 4/12/2018.
  • SuperValu- Cub Quick & Easy Bruschetta Mix. 12 oz. UPC: 038232374033. Use-by: 4/5/2018 - 4/12/2018.

The recall was initiated after products that may contain milk and soy were packaged into containers that did not declare the presence of milk and soy. Subsequent investigation indicates that an incorrect ingredient may have been used to produce the product.

Consumers who may have purchased the affected product are advised not to eat any of the affected product, immediately dispose of the product or return the product to the place of purchase for credit. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 651-438-8834.

Amaranth Flour Recall

Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods, Inc. Recalls Organic Amaranth Flour Due to Salmonella

April 6, 2018 – Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods is recalling Organic Amaranth Flour after recent testing revealed the presence of Salmonella in a single LOTwith a Sell By date of Nov. 26, 2015.

The following recalled Organic Amaranth Flour was distributed through retailers and distributors nationwide:

  • Organic Amaranth Flour (22 oz.), Sell By Date: 11/26/2015, LOT: 169617, UPC: 0 39978 00911 1.

While this product expired in November 2015, it was recently found on the shelves of one retail store, and thus Bob’s Red Mill is recalling the product out of an abundance of caution.

Consumers who have any of this affected product should not consume it and should return it to the place of purchase for credit or refund or throw it away.

Advocare Supplement Recall

Advocare Recalls Muscle Strength and Nighttime Recovery Supplements Due to Undeclared Milk

April 6, 2018 – AdvoCare International is recalling two lots of Muscle Strength and four lots of Nighttime Recovery dietary supplements because they may contain undeclared milk that can elicit an allergic reaction in individuals who are sensitive to milk and milk products.

Product was distributed nationwide through AdvoCare and our Independent Distributors. Affected product includes:

  • Muscle Strength- Product code: P3221 with lot numbers: 7063341, 7082161. Sold between November 15, 2017 - March 29, 2018.
  • Nighttime Recovery- Product code: P3201 with lot numbers: 7081841, 7063321, 7052411, 7090471. Sold between December 15, 2017 - March 28, 2018.

If you purchased any of the affected product, AdvoCare is urging consumers to call Customer Service at 1-800- 542-4800 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mon - Fri for a full refund or exchange of the product.

Club 13 Kratom Recall

Club 13 Recalls Kratom Maeng Da Red Powder and Capsules Due to Salmonella

April 5, 2018 – Club 13 is recalling pouches, bottles and all bulk orders of "Maeng Da Red" and “Maeng Da Red XS” kratom powder and capsules, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

The following recalled packages of Kratom Maeng Da Red were distributed nationwide in retail stores and through mail orders:

  • “Maeng Da Red” powder in 15, 30, 90, 150 and 454-gram packages marked with lot # MRMD012618 on the back of the pouch.
  • “Maeng Da Red” capsules in 5, 25, 50, 100 and 120-count bottles marked with the following lot numbers on the bottom left side: MRMD013018, MRMD013118, MRMD020118, MRMD020518, MRMD022318, MRMD022718, MRMD030118, MRMD030218, and MRMD030618.
  • “Maeng Da Red XS” capsules in 5, 20, 25, 40 and 50-count capsule bottles marked with the following lots numbers on the bottom left side: KRXS020718, KRXS030618, KRXS102417, KRXS110617, and KRXS120117.

The potential for contamination was noted after testing by the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture. The department detected the presence of Salmonella in a 30g and 90g package of “Maeng Da Red”.

Consumers who have purchased the aforementioned Maeng Da Red products are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-877-922-5783, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:15 AM to 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time.

Banquet Salisbury Steak Recall

Conagra Brands Inc. Recalls Salisbury Steak Products Due to Foreign Matter Contamination

April 11, 2018 – Conagra Brands, Inc. is recalling Salisbury steak products (poultry, pork, and beef) that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically bone.

The family-style, heat treated, not shelf stable Salisbury steak and brown gravy products were produced on March 10, 2018.  The following products are subject to recall:

  • 27-oz. carton containing plastic shrink-wrapped packages containing 6 pieces of “Banquet FAMILY SIZE 6 SALISBURY STEAKS & BROWN GRAVY MADE WITH CHICKEN, PORK AND BEEF – GRILL MARKS ADDED” with lot code 5006 8069 10 05and a ‘BEST BY’ date of SEP 01 2019 printed on the package. 

The products subject to recall bear the USDA mark of inspection with establishment number “P-115” and were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

The problem was discovered after the firm received several consumer complaints and three reports of minor oral injury associated with consumption of this product.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Beef Patty Recall

Koch Foods Inc. Recalls Beef Products Due to Foreign Matter Contamination

April 11, 2018 – Koch Foods, Inc. is recalling beef rib-shaped patty products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically thin blue plastic pieces.

The fully cooked, not shelf stable rib-shaped beef patty with BBQ sauce products were produced on July 8, 2016. The following products are subject to recall:

  • 30-lb. bulk boxes containing 6 plastic shrink-wrapped unlabeled packages of “Fully Cooked Rib-Shaped Beef Patty With BBQ Sauce” and identified by case code “67329” and lot number “JTM 16190” represented on the label.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 20795” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to a distributors nationwide for institutional use.             

FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers’ freezers.  Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
