March 22, 2018 – PDX Aromatics, DBA Kraken Kratom, Phytoextractum, and Soul Speciosa, is again expanding the scope of their 3/9/2018 and 3/15/2018 recalls to include certain red vein and green vein kratom powder and capsule products because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The second expanded recall is being initiated in response to additional positive findings of Salmonella associated with PDX Aromatics’ products following the FDA’s investigation.
To date the company is aware of four confirmed cases of Salmonella associated with consumption of red and white vein products.
The expanded recall includes certain red vein powder and capsule products shipped between 12/1/2017 and 3/8/2018 and certain green vein powder and capsule products shipped between 9/18/2017 and 11/1/2017 and between 2/9/2018 and 3/8/2018.
The expanded recalled products were sold directly to internet consumers in the US through the company websites http://phytoextractum.com; http://soulspeciosa.com; and http://krakenkratom.com.
Recalled products were also sold to two customers in the United Kingdom and to one customer in each of the following countries: Ireland, Japan, Norway, and Turkey.

March 22, 2018 – King Arthur Flour Company is recalling a limited quantity of Organic Coconut Flour (16 oz.), after testing revealed the presence of Salmonella in 1 pouch of Organic Coconut Flour.
The recalled Organic Coconut Flour (16 oz.) was distributed through retailers and distributors nationwide.
The product affected by the recall is Organic Coconut Flour (16 oz.) with Best If Used By Dates of 10/25/2018 LOT: CF22017E and 12/04/2018, LOT: CF22017E which can be found on the back of the pouch, near the bottom of the panel. UPC: 0 71012 10702 5.
Consumers who have any of these affected products should not consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for credit or refund.

March 22, 2018 – The J.M. Smucker Company today announced a recall of specific lots of two varieties of Milo’s Kitchen® dog treats, distributed nationally, because the products potentially contain elevated levels of beef thyroid hormone.
The impacted production includes the following items and lots:

Dogs consuming high levels of beef thyroid hormone may exhibit symptoms such as increased thirst and urination, weight loss, increased heart rate and restlessness. These symptoms may resolve when the consumption of these levels is discontinued. However, with prolonged consumption these symptoms may increase in severity and may include vomiting, diarrhea, and rapid or labored breathing. Should these symptoms occur, we recommend pet owners contact their veterinarian immediately.
The recall was issued after FDA informed Smucker of three illness reports.

March 22, 2018 – Mickey Brown, Inc. is recalling an undetermined amount of beef burrito products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection.
The following recalled product was produced on various dates from March 28, 2017 through March 6, 2018:
- 1-lb. 2-oz. plastic packages containing “Mickey Brown’s A Taste of Cajun 3 Beef Burritos.”
The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 33915” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products are labeled with “Keep Refrigerated” but may be frozen. The products are not labeled with a “best by” or “use by” date. These items were shipped to distributors in Louisiana, which then distributed the product for further retail and internet sales.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

March 21, 2018 – California Jerky Factory, Inc. is recalling approximately 1,238 pounds of beef jerky products due to a processing deviation that may have led to under processing of products.
The beef jerky items were produced and packaged on Dec. 4, 2017, Dec. 5, 2017, Jan. 2, 2018 and Jan 24, 2018. The following products are subject to recall:
- 3-oz. packages containing, “Beef Jerky Store Beef Jerky Original Crispy,” with “EXP” dates of 120418, 120518 and 010219.

March 20, 2018 – Piggie Park Enterprises Inc. is recalling Gourmet Carolina Gold Honey Sauce manufactured in the past two years (March 11, 2016 thru March 11, 2018), because it contains undeclared wheat and soy.
Gourmet Carolina Gold Honey Sauce was distributed Nationwide through our Flying Pig shipping service; in GA, NC, and SC through our retail partners.
The product comes in an 18oz, clear plastic bottle with an expiration date before 3/12/20. The expiration date is located on the bottom of the bottle. If the bottle doesn’t contain an expiration date, then the bottle is included in this recall. The bottles have a UPC of 0 75616 54383 8.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the powdered honey used in making the Gourmet Carolina Gold Honey Sauce contains wheat and soy, and it was not properly disclosed on the ingredients labels.

March 19, 2018 – Vitamin Cottage Natural Food Markets, Inc. is recalling Natural Grocers brand 10-ounce Coconut Smiles Organic due to the risk of Salmonella contamination.
The recalled product is packaged in clear plastic bags weighing 10 ounces and bears the “Natural Grocers” label and UPC 8034810 . All packages with packed-on dates prior to 18-075 (Mar. 16, 2018) are subject to recall. The packed-on date can be found in the bottom left-hand corner of the label.
Production of the product has been suspended while the Food and Drug Administration and the company continue their investigation into the source of the problem.
The recalled product was distributed to Natural Grocers stores located in Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
Six illnesses have been reported by individuals who ate Coconut Smiles Organic purchased from Natural Grocers. Consumers who may have purchased this product should return it to the store for credit or refund.

March 16, 2018 – River Valley Sprouts is recalling its 5 ounce Alfalfa Sprouts, 4 ounce Alfalfa Sprouts, 5 ounce Garlic/Alfalfa and 5 ounce Variety sprouts because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.
The recalled sprouts were packed and shipped from March 6-March 15. The sprouts were distributed in Minnesota and Wisconsin and were sold through various grocery stores. Some packages have sell by dates on the label. March 15-March 25.
The product is packaged in a plastic cup or clamshell container.
The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing by the FDA revealed the presence of Salmonella in some 5 ounce packages of Alfalfa Sprouts.
Consumers who still have this product are urged to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund or destroy.
