Residents invited to attend Fire Open House Oct. 5
MANKATO, Minn. — The City of Mankato’s Public Safety Fire Open House will be held Sunday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Public Safety Center, 710 S. Front St. Learn about fire safety and watch demonstrations about kitchen fires and fire sprinkler systems. Tour the station, view fire safety displays, explore fire trucks and learn about how to safely use batteries. Staff will also be offering portable fire extinguisher training.
The Fire Open House is held in association with National Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 5 through 11). This year’s theme is “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.”
